Indian media again started spreading news of a fight between Shaheen and Shan Masood.

Before the Champions Trophy, the Indian media started making a case for a dispute with captain Shan Masood over resting Shaheen Afridi from the Test squad during the tour of South Africa.

When Pakistan announced the squad for the tour of South Africa, the Indian media once again started spreading false news about differences in the Pakistani team. 

The Indian media released a regular video and said that due to a dispute between the Test team captain Shan Masood and Shaheen Shah Afridi, they were dropped from the Test series against South Africa. Meanwhile, selection committee member and interim head coach Aqib Javed said that in view of the Champions Trophy 2025 scheduled in Pakistan next year, fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi has been rested so that he is in the best form with the Pakistani team.

Abbas Afridi has been selected in place of Shaheen Shah Afridi in the Test series against South Africa.
