After the defeat in the World Cup match at the hands of India, Pakistan team director Micky Arthur had stated in a conversation with the media that it was not an ICC event but rather a BCCI event. Former stars have strongly criticized him for this statement.
Wasim Akram says, "I don't understand why he (Mickey Arthur) said such a thing. Please tell us what your strategy was against India, we want to hear that. We don't want to hear useless talk. Do you think you can escape this? It's not possible."
Another former cricketer, Moin Khan, commented, "Mickey Arthur is trying to divert attention from the loss; he wants to give it an emotional color. I think he should focus on his work instead of talking about it. What he said may be correct, but he shouldn't be discussing these matters."
